Web Summit Qatar
Good morning from Doha Qatar, where I’m at Web Summit — thousands of startups will gather for the one of the largest technology conferences in the world
I’ve returned to the Gulf.
This time I’m in Doha, Qatar which is a full circle moment as I always knew I would see Qatar — I just didn’t know when. About a ten minute walk from the bustling Bedouin markets from Souq Waqif, I have started walking the streets between tradition and modernity.
This week Web Summit Qatar one of the largest technology gatherings in the world will kick off — the first Middle East chapter. Expected attendance is around 12,000 — over a 1000 startups will be exhibiting meanwhile a vivacious media network from around the world is here to capture complex questions on the future of technology. The true diversity of this conference is the never ending list of attendees and topics from around the world.
During a pivotal time for Artificial Intelligence, I knew I wanted to go back to West Asia to discover how founders are building beyond Silicon Valley. Over the next week, my photography and journals will attempt to capture questions on innovation in a changing multipolar world order.
